What happens when I agree to switch my credit card to a Scotiabank Value Visa credit card?
When you accept the offer to switch your current Scotiabank credit card to a Scotiabank Value Visa card:
- The balance and all transactions on your current Scotiabank credit card will be transferred to the new Scotiabank Value Visa credit card.
- Creditor insurance (if applicable) will transfer to your new Scotiabank Value Visa card once activated.
- Your credit limit on your current credit card will also be applied to the new Scotiabank Value Visa credit card.
- Your existing credit card will be closed once you activate your new Scotiabank Value Visa credit card. Any supplementary cards you have on your current Scotiabank credit card will be re-issued to you. Once you activate your new Scotiabank Value Visa Card, all cards including your supplementary cards will be cancelled.
- If you have any pre-authorized payment (PAD) to make monthly payments to your current Scotiabank credit card will need to be set that up again for your new Scotiabank Value Visa card.
- If you have any recurring payments set up with merchants (such as for subscriptions or memberships) to your existing Scotiabank credit card account, you will have to set them up again for your new Scotiabank Value Visa card.
