A credit card may be declined for many reasons, such as:
- The card doesn’t have enough available credit, or the credit limit has been reached
- Pending transactions have lowered your available credit, but haven’t been applied to your current balance
- Card details or PIN were entered incorrectly
- The account is behind on payments
- New or replacement card has yet to be activated
- Card has been closed, cancelled, or is expired
- The card is locked, or has been temporarily blocked (for example, you may have reported your card as lost or stolen, or there has been unusual purchasing activity detected)
To review your account details:
- From your Accounts Summary page, select your credit card account
- On the Account Activity page, you can view your current balance, available credit, most recent payment, and pending transactions
If you have enough available credit for your purchase and your card is in good standing, please call the number on the back of your card for more support. If you’re having issues with your PIN, please visit your closest branch.
