What happens if I make an additional payment to my Scotiabank credit card or line of credit account when I have AutoPay set up?
If the additional payment you made covers the amount that you have set up for AutoPay, then the amount you have selected under AutoPay won’t be processed on the payment due date.
If the payment you made doesn’t cover the amount you have set up for AutoPay, then the remaining amount will be processed through AutoPay on the due date.
For example, let’s say your account has a balance of $100 and you’ve selected to pay your full balance with AutoPay. Your payment is due at the end of the month, but you’ve made a payment of $50 at the beginning of the month. Your AutoPay payment will be for the remaining $50 and will be processed as usual on your payment due date.
